After Care Instructions

One of the most important parts of getting your ears pierced is the aftercare. In order to obtain the best results, please follow these essential steps:

1. Thoroughly clean hands with an antibacterial soap prior to any contact with your newly pierced ears. DO NOT remove ear-piercing earrings. DO NOT handle your ears or your ear piercing earrings unnecessarily.

2. Cleanse the front and back of your ears 3 times a day by liberally applying  Ear Care Antiseptic  with a saturated cotton ball or cotton swab, without removing the ear piercing earrings. With each cleaning, gently slide the ear piercing earrings back and forth in your ear so the solution will go inside the piercing. Then gently rotate the ear piercing earrings a partial turn, both forwards and backwards, 2-3 times.

EAR LOBE PIERCINGS: Leave ear piercing earrings in your ear for at least 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, the ear piercing earrings can be removed and other post type earrings can be inserted. Post earrings must be worn at all times for the first 6 months to ensure that your ear piercing will remain the proper size.

EAR CARTILAGE PIERCING: Leave ear piercing earrings in your ears for 8-12 weeks. After 8-12 weeks, the ear piercing earrings can be removed and other post type earrings can be inserted. Some type of post earrings must be worn at all times for the first 12 months to ensure that your ear piercing will remain the proper size.

Always wash hands thoroughly before touching studs or ear.

Cleanse front and back of the ear 2 times a day with   Ear Care Antiseptic without removing studs. Apply Antiseptic  to the front and back of the stud and gently slide forward and back. Repeat twice daily.

Keep hair spray, soap, shampoo and other preparations away from the ear. After shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clear water and then apply Ear Care Antiseptic described above.

The pierced area should be CLEANSED with  Ear Care Antiseptic  then kept DRY, especially after swimming or exercise.

DO NOT remove the studs from ear during ear care procedure.

DO NOT handle your ears and/or studs unnecessarily.

DO NOT push the clasp along the post towards the ear. This is essential as tight earrings may lead to infection.

Leave studs on ears for 8 weeks continuously.

After 8 weeks, the stud can be removed and other post-type earrings may be worn continuously.

Use only post style earrings continuously for the first 6 months after piercing. The post should be surgical stainless steel or 24K Gold.

Minor pain/redness may occur immediately after piercing - this is normal. This will settle within 48 hours provided proper after care is followed. If undue pain/swelling/redness occurs please call us IMMEDIATELY. If infection has set in, do not remove the ear piercing stud until you have consulted with us.  215 879-3277
